The City of Leiden wants to grow and develop as a city of knowledge. Various projects by the city will contribute to the accessibility of the city. The end goal is that in 2025 Leiden will be more accessible by bicycle, car and public transport! Many projects are already underway; extra bicycle stands, improvements to the Willem de Zwijgerlaan and the ring road around the centre.
Thijs van Iersel and DoubleMatured joined forces, and together with the Leiden Municipality designed and developed an animation concept to present the city’s accessibility plans to the public and other stakeholders. Informative texts are supported by animated cars, cyclists, and other symbols, making the animation fun and informative. The complex material was translated into simple graphics, producing a clear and positive message. Cooperating to improve accessibility, an important next step for the city.
